It's about time!

Many have mentioned it is about time for a blog update.  And my oh my, I do have things to update!

1) I am officially an Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio!  (Woohoo!)

2) I have not 1 but 2 jobs!  [One at a camp for kids with diabetes (aka my DREAM JOB!) and the other at a hospital in Cincinnati]

3) I have new digs!  ( New job = new chapter = perfect opportunity to move to a new part of town!)

4) New ride!  (That's right.  After 18 great years, I have finally layed to rest my sister's reliable Huffy, affectionately referred to as, 'the Huff,'  that she got for her birthday in the 5th grade.  I updated to a Lexa Trek :  My new bike! (Ain't she a beauty?!).  I already took her out for a couple spins.  She rides like a dream.

Lots of good things going on.

Up on the horizon is the Cleveland Marathon, which is this Sunday.  I am looking forward to the race.  The weather looks to be a 0 percent chance of rain with a high of 80 degrees.  Maybe warm by some folks standards, but that's just my type of weather to run in.

Honestly, the training leading up to this race has been a tough one.  I had some IT band trouble in the beginning which led my cross training rather than running for the first month and a half or so.  I filled my time with strength training and ellipticals and also pool running.  While I have been running decently and been able to increase my mileage appropriately in order to complete the race safely, I am still not feeling like I am in the top shape and so I am not anticipating a PR in Cleveland.  Instead, I plan on supporting my brother in his first marathon (although  he is getting to be Speedy Gonzolas pretty quickly and so I don't think I will be running with him for very long)  and also just enjoying the race and the day and the fabulous city and people of Cleveland and most importantly, the  home  that I love.

Happy Trails,
Erin
